Participants will learn how to support Early Brain Development, Early Literacy,
       and Classroom Management while incorporating the vocabulary of American Sign

What is AZ DEC?      

We are a professional organization of teachers, therapists, early interventionists, psychologists, related services professionals, para-educators, administrators,  child caregivers, and family members concerned about developmentally appropriate early
education opportunities and enhanced quality of life for infants, toddlers, and young
children with “special” or exceptional needs. We are affiliated with The DEC Division
of The Council for Exceptional Children, the largest professional organization of
individuals who teach, care and advocate for children with special needs and their
families.


Joining AZ DEC

To join with other DEC members in Arizona, you must first join The Council for

AZ DEC Mission Statement

AZ DEC has as its purpose the advancement of education and welfare of individuals with exceptionalities, birth through eight years of age and their families, and the promotion of related education, scientific, and charitable purposes on their behalf.

 AZ DEC is dedicated to promoting policies and practices that support families and enhance the optimal development of all young children, especially those with all types of exceptionalities that span the range of potential in all developmental domains, and those at-risk for future developmental challenges.
