Phoebe Edge was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. In January 1999, she moved to Tempe, Arizona to pursue a BFA in Ceramics.
During her college years she attended workshops in Maine, North Carolina, and Colorado. Ms. Edge studied with Kurt Weiser,
Randy Schmidt, and Jeanne Otis at Arizona State University. She graduate magna cum laude and was granted the ASU Ceramics
Award in May 2003.
Phoebe has participated in many exciting shows
such as the Ceramic Research Center Studio Tour, Ink and Clay 28, and the United States Post Office Show. Last summer, Ms
Edge spent two months in Japan. Her travels included a month in Shigaraki studying Japanese ceramic techniques. Additionally,
she traveled solo exploring the small craft towns throughout the ancient country.
Currently, Phoebe Edge is the ceramics technician
for the City of Tempe Community Art Center where she also teaches a teen ceramics class. Phoebe began working at Metro Arts
High School in the fall of 2005 as the new ceramics teacher. Additionally, she was selected as a Studio Artist for the City
of Tempe elementary schools.
