These images are a sample of Phoebe Edge's  current work. The anagama wood-fired pieces are from her adventures in Shigaraki, Japan. Most of her work is influenced by Japanese aesthetics. However, historically speaking, they are more influenced by the craftsmen brought to Japan from Korea.

Phoebe enjoys the challenge of making an aesthetically pleasing pot. Yet, her heart thrives on the funk and abnormality of the Japanese wabi sabi. This phrase has become cliché in the craft world. Nonetheless, the unconditional freedom and restrained refinement bring out the beauty of asymmetry and simplicity in "mundane objects."
