As the ceramics technician, I mix glazes, fire reduction and oxidation kilns, inventory supplies, stock chemicals, organize and clean the studio.

I was the primary baker for in store sales and catering. Working alone in a high-paced environment next to Arizona State University, one must be self-motivated and levelheaded. Opening and Closing the restaurant included counting the register, cleaning and preparing for the following day.

Ceramics work/study at Arizona State University included mixing glazes and firing kilns. I also worked closely with the Ceramics Technician, Rich Piper, maintaining kilns.

I was hired as a cashier but quickly moved through stock, customer service, and buyer to become manager at the age of 19. During my three years with Return to Eden, I matured from a high school graduate to a manager of a busy health food store. I worked closely with representatives from all over the country to bring in new products. I was flown to national conventions as a store representative looking for the latest in the natural foods industry.
