Greetings. OK, so, the site is not finished yet,
but I just wanted to get something published to the web. In regards to my work, I REALLY want to work on adding content to
my ceramics. The functional thing is fun, but I want to add more of my subconscious to the surface design. I know some of
you are afraid of my subconscious, and yes, you should be. So, I am working some ideas on tile pieces.
However, I have a show coming up the last weekend
in February with the Ceramic Research Center Studio Tour. If you are interested, check out the media blip below...
Phoenix
area's 4th annual Ceramic Studio Tour to be a Feast for the Eyes
TEMPE,
Ariz. - More than 40 ceramic artists, many with regional and
national
prominence, will participate in the 4th Annual Self-Guided
Ceramic
Studio Tour organized by the Artists Advisory Committee of the
Arizona
State University Art Museum's Ceramics Research Center, from 10
a.m.
to 4 p.m., Feb. 26 and 27, 2005. A preview showing and sale of
selected
works by tour artists will take place on Friday, Feb. 25 from
7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Ceramics Research Center.
Several newly selected artists will join already established artists for
this exciting tour. Artists will exhibit and sell
their work at private
studios across the Phoenix metropolitan area. Each
studio will host
between 1 and 10 artists.
The annual self-guided studio tour attracts visitors who vary from
ceramics aficionados to those who have never purchased ceramics other
than mugs and bowls. The preview reception and tour are free to members
of the public, who can buy items, or just window shop and enjoy the
demonstrations.
Tour participants have the unique opportunity to meet the artists
face-to-face and go behind-the-scenes to see where the art is created.
Artists captivate visitors with wheel throwing, hand building and
glazing demonstrations throughout the two-day tour. Some
studios will
hold a drawing for a free handmade ceramic gift. Volunteers
who
coordinated past tours reported overwhelmingly positive feedback from
visitors.
For more information about the 4th Annual Self-Guided Ceramic Studio
Tour, members of the public should call the ASU Art Museum at (480)
