L.A. PRIDE n JUNE 10, 2007

EPISCOPAL CHURCH/PRIDE T-SHIRTS
T-shirts will be on sale for $15.00 at the Eucharist site. Wear your T-shirt and we’ll supply “veils and mini- trains, bowties and cummerbunds, bouquets, flower baskets and ring bearer pillows. Got kids? Bring the whole family along. We’ll have all the fun bits to dress them up for our day of celebrating “Equal Rites”. Or if you prefer … create/wear your own. Got your own tux, dress, “mother-of the-bride” hat, etc.? Create your own bits. Add ’em to your T-shirt and Come on Down and celebrate!


STREET EUCHARIST 9:00 a.m.
Eucharist will begin at 9:00 a.m. in the Bank of America parking lot located at the northeast corner of Santa Monica and Crescent Heights in West Hollywood. This year’s presider is Jim Boline, of St. Paul’s (Evangelical Lutheran Church of America) in Santa Monica. Our homilist will be Kay Sylvester, of St. Paul’s Episcopal in Tustin.


PARADE 10:30 a.m.
The parade steps off at 11:00 A.M. and runs along Santa Monica Blvd. from Crescent Heights to Robertson Blvd. Our Parade this year will feature 5 “classic” convertible automobiles dressed in flowers. In the lead car, our special guest the Rt. Rev. Sergio Carranza, followed by cars carrying “Brides” with a 20 ft “train” and “Grooms” with 20 foot “tails” plus cars with parade celebrants. The tail of our final vehicle carries the sign “JUST BLESSED” dragging tin cans, old shoes...and the kitchen sink. Surrounding all this will be train holders, banner carriers and other party goers.

Parade FAQ

When? Sunday, June 10, 2007

Where? West Hollywood, CA; the street Eucharist will be at the Bank of America parking lot at the corner of Crescent Heights and Santa Monica Blvd. The address is 8025 Santa Monica Blvd., Los Angeles, CA  90046. The bank has requested that five spaces in their parking lot be left open for ATM customers.

What Time? 9 a.m. sharp for the Street Eucharist.

When does the parade start? After the Eucharist, we will have about an hour for coffee, breakfast, and people watching, before we report back around 10:30–11 a.m. to the staging area assigned to our parade contingent. The location of the staging area will be announced immediately after the Eucharist.

What about parking? Try carpooling in two cars, and park one at the end of the parade route (somewhere in the vicinity of Robertson and Melrose) and then proceed to the Street Eucharist in the second car. If you only have one car, you may want to park it near the halfway point at La Cienega and Santa Monica Blvd., and walk east and north to  the street Eucharist location.
