Gay Pride Scrapbook

Each year Episcopalians, both straight and gay, meet for Eucharist (Communion) at the corner of Crescent Heights Blvd. and Fountain Ave. before marching in the Christopher Street West Parade.   Below are some of the many friends who meet to share this time together.  We are especially grateful to the many straight folks who came to march with us!

The Very Reverend Mac Thigpen, former Bishop's Liaison to the Gay and Lesbian Community, celebrated the Eucharist a couple of years ago.  The Rev. Susan Russell, on the left, preached the Gay Pride sermon entitled "Marching Orders." You can see a copy of the sermon under Reading of Interest.

After church, we all went out for breakfast before lining up and getting ready to march.  Here we are waiting to take our turn on the parade route.

Even Max, the Yorkshire Terrier metamorphosed into "Episco Dog" in order to march! Heaven forbid he should not be in a matching tee shirt with the rest of us.
