BASSES

Here's a guide to the shapes I'm currently building

The "FAIRLANE"
Fairlane Body Shape
4, 5, 6 string - All scales

When I kept reading about how there wasn't a Jaguar shaped bass available , I was challenged to come up with this design. It's got a traditional feel but a shape that isn't common. I can build this design in a modern style with laminates and as a neckthru or I can go retro as a slab body with a pickguard. The possibilities are endless.

The "JAKE"
Jake Body Shape
Designed as a body for using aftermarket and take-off necks

I was approached to make a custom based on a used fretless Warwick neck. The result is the "Jake", named for the client that assisted with the design. It's a versatile shape with a world of possibilities, ranging from extended range to short scale designs. I've sort of reserved this body for use with necks from other basses. It's well suited to this multi-functional role because the body size will allow use of necks with small mounting pockets - something that standard Fender replacement bodies can't do.

The "BEETLEBONE"
beetlebone body shape
A cool. radius top version of a violin body

I suppose that every bass builder eventually tries their hand at a "Beatle" bass. The task is easier said than done though because the original Hofner design left much to be desired from an ergonomic standpoint. The Hofner style is somewhat neck heavy and the small body doesn't allow for the player's right forearm to rest on the lower bout to help with the balance. This design solves all of that. It rests and balances like any standard bass.
