This site is about do-it-yourself projects and tips for sailboats. The first item is building an adjustable length whisker pole for small sailboats, using readily available parts and materials. This pole has a retractable spike on the end, no matter what length the pole is set to. There is even a twistlock option available. And the plans are free for the downloading.
