Welcome to Glendalough, one of the first large family retreats built on beautiful Smith Mountain Lake.

Glendalough boasts a most expansive wide water view of the lake, and the full breadth of Smith Mountain. The point property sits on 1023 feet of lake front, almost 5 acres of treed and open lawn, with two large docks. Sleeping 16 adults in 6 bedrooms with 4 baths, you'll find Glendalough is the perfect spot for a family reunion or corporate retreat. New in Summer 2006: a beautiful 7 person Hot Tub!!

Glendalough retains much of her original charm, but with a few modern conveniences. Central heat and air were added in 1997. You'll enjoy the satellite Dish TV, DVD and VCR players, stereo and tuner with both CD player and turntable for those old LPs. There's satellite Internet in the study and a computer so you can stay current with your work or email. No smoking in the house, please.

Family dinners for 14 at the dining table.

Glendalough can sleep 16, with 4 full baths and an outdoor shower in season. Fourteen may be served at the dining table, and there's seating for six more on the screened porch off the main floor.

Enjoy the new 7 person Hot Tub on the lower level screened porch! And down on the dock, there's a canoe waiting for your enjoyment of the early morning mist or sunset over the lake.

Decorated with antiques and a period Adirondack styling, you'll feel comfortable and at home the minute you walk in the door, and straight out to one of the two screened porches. The lake surrounds the property on three sides and becomes your constant companion.

Newer dock on the point, with floaters.

Warning: There is a platform on the upper deck of this dock that could be used for jumping into the water. Use at your own risk. Supervision of children near water is always required.

Study with satellite Internet and computer.

Amenities include: 4200+ square feet under air, regulation pool table, 2 satellite TVs (one big screen home theater system) with DVD and VCR, satellite Internet and computer, fax, dishwasher, ice maker and cold water in door, 3 refrigerators, washer and dryer, kitchen fully equipped for large groups. New 7 Person Hot Tub, and canoe, with paddles and PFDs. Please bring PFDs for children.

Galley kitchen is fully equipped for large groups.

Glendalough sleeps 16 people. All homes are strictly limited to the number of occupants indicated. Occupancy limitations are determined by Bedford County and are based on the size of the home's septic system. For the purpose of this regulation, anyone over the age of two years is considered an occupant.

Blue Rate: $3600/week or $600/night 1/1/08 to 3/28/08 and 11/1/08 to 12/31/08

Green Rate: $4600/week or $765/night 3/29/08 to 6/13/08 and 8/23/08 to 10/31/08

Red Rate: $5600/week or $935/night 6/14/08 to 8/22/08

CANCELLATION POLICY: If a reservation is cancelled with at least 30 days prior notice, the pre-paid deposit will be fully refundable minus a $100 cancellation fee. If a reservation is cancelled within 30 days of your arrival date and we are unable to re-rent the property, no refunds will be issued. If we are able to re-rent the property and secure the same monies for the property owner, all monies paid be the canceling party will be refunded excluding a $100 cancellation fee.
