Blox Zoids

Blox Zoids were the latest Zoid Trend to emerge from the great minds at Tomy. Much like Micronauts and/or Centurions, Blox Zoids are Zoid-styled creatures composed of interchangeable system of parts that can be transferred from Zoid-to-Zoid. The core of the system is a nondescript generic series of cubes with pins and holes (similar to the waist sections of Modulok or Multi-bot from Masters of the Universe) that fit the interchangeable parts. By pulling the ol' mix-and-match with parts from other Blox Zoids, you can create all kinds of new Zoid critters without the use of knives, glue, paint, or sandpaper.
All Blox are 1/72 scale. Blox kits tend not to be motorized, which is a bit of a disappointment in a way. But, I would surmise that Tomy was aiming for a younger demographic with Blox, hoping that kodomo Zoiders get bitten the customizing bug early and then work their way up to the more complex motorized kits. Blox Zoids parts are interchangeable with other Blox Zoids. They are also able to combine with motorized Zoid kits as bizarre Customize Parts sets. As for making a motorized Blox...I've done it myself, as have a few of my fellow Zoiders, but it's a fairly involved undertaking, and requires the sacrifice of an existing motorized Zoid kit. Still the rewards are worth the effort. Snoop around the site here and you'll find a pic of my motorized Mosasledge. A motorized Nightwise and Leo Blaze are currently in the works. Some Blox are divided into subsets, with each Blox Zoid in the subset making up part of a larger creature. This hasn't been the case for all Blox Zoids, though.
