About this projectWelcome to the first interactive tutorial on reading and pronouncing Bosnian, Croatian, and Serbian. Although the language formerly known as Serbo-Croatian has split into three separate standard languages, all of these standards continue to be based on the same basic dialect type. The pronunciation modeled in this tutorial is appropriate for use in Serbia and Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, or Croatia.
This tutorial also provides a gradual introduction to the Cyrillic alphabet as used in Serbian, with a number of exercises. We hope that this will be useful to students learning this alphabet for the first time, as well as for students with a knowledge of Russian who wish to learn how Serbian spelling and pronunciation differ from that of Russian. |
