I
decided to write a travel journal, rather than the long email messages I’ve sent out over the years(to be read with
interest, scanned, or just, ho-hum!.. deleted). This way you can choose to read or not, without the accompanying load to your
inbox.
I will add articles about each place we visit, and illustrate with a few photos. Hope you enjoy it!
For late spring, 2005, we put together a trip including two teaching stints for Chuck, invitations from
friends and visits to places we had wanted to see, and came up with twelve weeks of travel. We left an enchanting
Georgia April and landed in a late Lithuanian winter, where we saw snow more than once. Our later travel took us to
France, the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Austria. June finds us again in the Baltics, as we catsit in a lovely apartment
in Riga for a few weeks. For a nice little finish, we'll be spending our last three nights in Europe this
summer, in Marburg, Germany, where I lived half a decade in the 1970s.
