Tonight, tonight the strip's just right
I wanna blow'em off in my first heat
Summer's here and the time is right
For goin' racin' in the street

Here you'll learn all about my interests in cars and more about me. I always wanted a 65 GTO, one hot summer day in 2004 my son & my friend Barry were at a car show at whiskey Joe’s in NJ as they walked into the show they first saw the 65 GTO.  The body was in the shape you see it on this site, the car ran well. They called me and two days later I was the owner.  This was in June 2004.

So the car looks great and it’s not a numbers matching but than again I am not into that end of cars.  I grew up in the 70’s and wanted a muscle car like we built in the 70’s so that means the biggest block to make meanest and nastiest motor you can build.  The plan was to go slow but there were a lot of meatball things that needed to be sorted out first.

some of the meatball things were like a 950 Demon on a 1967 stock 400 motor with 670 heads.  More CFM’s does not always mean more horse power. This carburetor within a couple of weeks started shooting Gas all over the fire wall and distributor. This was a small meatball item that needed to be sorted out.

Did I mention the car still had points and stock exhaust manifolds? The clutch was stock and on it’s last legs and the bolts on the bell housing; well let’s just say I do not know how they were holding on the bell housing, there was some real ugly wiring under the dash, three inch bolts sticking through the floor for the seats.  I could go on and on but the car to average guy looked great.

So new clutch, MSD, Hooker headers with old fashion cut outs with wing nuts for easy on and most important easy off and holley 750 and let’s do something about that 308 rear, 410’s should get us there.  Now we have the basic 1970 street car.

A month later; my son and his friend were in the car with me heading to a car show and that damm 69 Camaro on highway 9; in yes you got it NJ.  Light turns green he sees my license plate and then I spun a bearing and let’s say the 400 in now junk.

Here is where we begin - welcome to my world

My Friend Barry - he has a 1964 Impala SS 409

My son Mike - he has a GTO also but we will get to that later
