COME WITH ME

Come with me, I’ll take you to
A place beyond the moon
Where love resides
In rainbow skies
And passion flowers bloom

Come with me, we’ll take a trip
To Jupiter and Mars
We’ll dance and sing
In Saturn’s rings
And catch a shooting star……

We can………
Lie in a field of memories
Feel the moon caress the trees
Drink champagne from silver streams
And climb in the window of a dream

Come with me, let’s fly away
To A place we’ve never been
The love we share
Will take us there
And bring us back again

We can……….
Lie in a field of memories
Feel the moon caress the trees
Drink champagne from silver streams
And climb in the window of a dream

WHAT'D YA GO AND DO TO MY HEART

Got out of bed this mornin’,
Put my shoes on the wrong feet,
Fixed myself some breakfast,
 And then forgot to eat.
Got a funny feelin’ in my chest
The adrenalin’s a-pumpin.
I’m not sure what’s goin’ on,
But you must have done somethin’

So, I’m askin’ you……..
What d’ya do, What d’ya do,

What d’ya go and do to my heart?
It hasn’t been the same since I met ya.
What d’ya go and do to my heart?
It’s racin’ like it’s tryin’ hard to catch ya.
You’ve got my head a- reelin’,
With some strange and funny feelin’s.
What d’ya go and do to my heart?
What d’ya go and do to my heart?

My temperature starts risin’
Everytime you come around
The way you walk and talk and smile
Makes my heart melt down.
We’ve never gone out on a date
We’ve never even kissed
So would you please explain to me
Why I feel like this?

I’m askin’ you………
What d’ya do, what d’ya do,
What d’ya go and do to my heart?
It hasn’t been the same since I met ya.
What d’ya go and do to my heart?
It’s racin’ like it’s tryin’ hard to catch ya.
You’ve got my head a- reelin’,
With some strange and funny feelin’s.
What d’ya go and do to my heart?
What d’ya go and do to my heart?

HELP ME FIND MY HEART

<verse>
May I ask you a favor?
I’ll try not to intrude.
I need someone to help me,
And you look like you could.
Ya see, I ‘m lookin for somethin’
That I lost way back when
And I have the strangest feelin’
You could bring it back again.
<chorus>
So could ya help me find my heart
And chase these blues away?.
Could ya help me find my heart
And undo the cloudy days?
<verse>
I looked in my memories,
But it wasn’t there.
And It wasn’t’ in the teardrops
Scattered everywhere.
The last time that I noticed ,
It was hanging on my sleeve,
Shouting words of loneliness,
And threatening to leave.
<chorus>
So, could ya help me find my heart
And chase these blues away?
Would ya help me find my heart
So I can love again someday?
<bridge>
It may be lonesome, broken, and blue
But hearts can be mended, I know it’s true.
All it needs is a little lovin’ from you.
Some kissin’ and a’huggin, and it’ll be good as new.
<chorus>
So, could ya Help me find my heart
And bring it back this way?
Would ya help me find my heart
So I can love again someday?
<tag>
If you can find it, tell ya what I’ll do.
I’ll dust it off, patch it up, and give it back to you.
Repeat chorus…

ANOTHER   LONELY     MORNIN

The afternoons aren’t all that bad.
Until the sun goes down
But every night about this time
Your memory comes around.
Wanderin’ in and out with yesterdays,
Stackin’  blues against the door..
Remindin’ me that you’re not here.
And, all night I pace the floor,............
Waitin’ for

Another lonely morning since you’ve gone
An  afternoon of waitin by the phone
Another game of solitaire
Another night to sit and stare…..
Just waitin’…… for another lonely mornin’

Breakfast in bed, the Sunday News,
The sunlight streaming in.
The way my fingers traced those
Golden  patterns on your skin.
Now  the midnight moon makes
 Shadow puppets ‘cross the floor.
And I wonder if you’re loving her (him)
While I’m starin’ at the door,…..
Waitin’ for……..

Another lonely morning  since you're gone
An afternoon  of waitin’ by the phone
Another day of solitaire,
Another night to sit and stare
Just waitin’……. for another lonely mornin’

I Feel Your Touch

I hear you
I hear your footsteps in my mind,
Leaving dreams behind.
A distant soft refrain
Echoing my name
I hear your song in my heart
And once the music starts,
It wouldn’t take too much
For me to feel your touch.

I see you
I see your eyes burn with desire
Flame of love grows higher
The passion in your face
Wrapped in your embrace
I see moonlight in your smile
And I’ve know it for a while…….
It wouldn’t take too much
For me to feel your touch

I feel the love we’re sharing
Wild and free and daring
I feel your touch
I feel your touch

I need you
I need you in my arms
To calm this raging storm
And hold me, oh so tight
In the shadows of the night
No, it wouldn’t take too much
For me to feel your touch.

I feel the love we’re sharing
Wild and free and daring
I feel your touch
I feel your touch

THE LINES
The lines in my face tell a story
About all the old used-to-be’s
Each one is a lesson in learning
Just how lonely one man can be
The lines she traced with her fingers
Grow deeper each day,
Since she walked away
And left me with her memory

The lines on my cheeks are from teardrops
That fall every night since she’s gone
And each day they add a new chapter
All about bein’ alone
The lines that turned up with laughter
Now turn up when I frown
And turn upside down
With the thought that my baby’s gone

<bridge>
If you read between them you’ll find
The pain she left behind
Look close and you’ll even see pictures
Of the days when she was still mine.

Each one is a lesson in learning
Just how lonely one man can be

The Rest of My Life

From the top of the hill,  I can clearly see
This ain’t where I want to be.
Spent half my life getting this far,
Tryin’ to reach that distant star.
Givin’ up dreams, just to survive
Instead of living the rest of my life.

My friends say I’m crazy To leave it behind
They all tell me I’ve lost my mind
For callin’ it quits and takin’ a break
And not knowing my future when I awake.
But, I’m packin’ my bags, don’t need their advice.
I’m off to start livin’ the rest of my life.

I’ve gotta
Skinny-dip in the sea of love
Then follow the waves, wherever they go.
Ride the wild wind to the clouds above,
And dance to a waltz in the falling snow.

Loneliness may come ‘round once in a while
There may be times when it’s hard to smile.
I may not have much security
But I’ll have a lot of new memories.
And, I know I’ll never be satisfied
Until I start living the rest of my life.

I’m gonna start living the rest of my life.
Living the rest of my life………….

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

 <chorus>
The questions are always changing
But the answers stay the same.
Love still causes heartaches,
And Pretending is still a game.

<verse>

Which one is leaving?
Who gets the kids, the house, the car?
Where do we go from here?
Or have we already gone too far?

Can it really be over?
Or can we get it back?
Should we give up and call it quits?
Or try to get it back on track?

 <bridge>

 Is it right? Or is it wrong?
The answers will remain.
Love still causes heartaches,
No matter who ‘s to blame.

<chorus>
The questions are always changing,
But the answers stay the same.
Love still causes heartaches,
And pretending’s still a game.

 NOT   TODAY

The stars may fall from Heaven
Leaving only dust behind
The moon could stop it’s beaming
And the sun might lose it’s shine.
And there might come a time
When you don’t cross my mind.
Maybe someday, but not today.

At the end of every rainbow
There could be a pot of gold
The world could stop it’s spinning
And there’d be no growing old.
And maybe in a while
I won’t see your smile
Maybe someday, but not today.

Maybe you’ll stop runnin
Through dark shadows in my dreams
And creepin ’by the window
With once-forgotten memories.
And sometime I might say
I never loved you, anyway.
Maybe someday, but not today.

A Memory and a Teardrop

You told me you were leavin’,
And packed up your things.
Said you were goin’ back to Nashville
To chase some wild dream.
Now, your clothes aren’t  in the closet,
Your shaving kit is gone
Your boots don’t sit beside the bed
But you forgot to take along…….

A memory and a teardrop,
A heartache that won’t stop
Broken dreams scattered cross the floor
A mem’ry and a teardrop
Little things you forgot
The day you said goodbye
and closed the door.

I threw away the locket
You bought for me to wear.
Got rid of all your pictures
And sold your favorite chair
Took your name off the mailbox
Changed the message on the phone
But each day I find  another
Reminder that you’re gone…….

A memory and a teardrop,
A heartache that won’t stop
Broken dreams scattered cross the floor
A mem’ry and a teardrop
The little things you forgot
The day you said goodbye
and closed the door.

A COWBOY FOR CHRISTMAS

Dear Santa, I’ve been good,
And I’m wond’rin’ if you would
Bring a little somethin’ just for me.
I’m not askin for a mansion
with a marble floor to dance on.
Just one present underneath my tree.
C’mon, Santa, would ya please

<chorus>
Send me a cowboy for Christmas.
A tall good-lookin’ one with smilin’ eyes.
Send me a cowboy for Christmas.
With a Stetson hat and faded old Levi’s.
And what would really thrill me
Is if he could sing like Willie!
Please send me a cowboy for Christmas.

<verse>
There’s one more thing I’ll ask,
If it’s not too big a task,
Could ya find me one who’ll hang around a while?
‘Cause I’m tired of reminiscin’
‘Bout the huggin and the kissin’
And havin’ it for real would make me smile.
C’mon, Santa……would ya please……

<chorus>
Send me a cowboy for Christmas -
A tall good-lookin’ one with smilin’ eyes.
Send me a cowboy for Christmas,
With a Stetson hat and faded old Levi’s.
And, what would really thrill me
Is if he could sing like Willie
Please send me a cowboy for Christmas.

Tag…..
And, please before you go,
Don’t forget the mistletoe
C’mon, Santa……..
send me a cowboy for Christmas

SLOW DANCIN' WITH YOU

<this first part is spoken, not sung>
You said you'd like to hold me
,and asked me if I'd mind.
It depends on what you mean by "hold",
I don't think I would decline
 If you mean……..

<chorus >
Dancin' in the moonlight beneath a starry sky
To the sound of Willie Nelson,
Singing "If I Could Only Fly"..
I think that is something I could do.
I'd love to dance a slow dance with you.........

<verse>
Its a dream.......
I can feel your arms around me
As we're dancing....oh, so slow....
I could stay right here forever,
And I won’t let you let me go.

I can feel the beating of your heart,
As I lay my head against your chest........
the music slowly fades away......
There is no way I can resist........

<chorus>  (alternate chorus)
Dancin' in the moonlight beneath a starry sky
To some romantic melody
As I gaze into your eyes……
Yes, I think that is something I could do.
I'd love to dance a slow dance with you........

WANDERIN COWBOY

 His cowboy boots have seen better days
His belt is well-worn leather
The blue bandanna has faded to gray
His hat is old and weathered
Eyes are blue as the Colorado sky
After a summer rain
But, cold and bitter like the wind
That blows across the plains.

               <chorus>
Wanderin’ Cowboy, watch where you go
Don’t leave any tracks behind,
Her memory follows,  Wanderin’ Cowboy
Her voice is the sound in your mind.

<verse>
He thought of his lost little darlin’
Her skin was  soft and pleasin’
She had hair the color of candlelight
And a spirit that loved to tease him.
He gave her his heart, she took his soul
When he left her behind.
Now all he has is a memory
And the voice he hears in his mind

<chorus>
Wanderin’ cowboy, watch where you go
Hide those tracks you’re leavin’ behind.
Her memory will find you,   Wanderin’ Cowboy
Her voice is the sound in your mind.

<verse>
Looking back, he remembers
The look of surprise on her face
When he caught them together that night
Wrapped in a lovers embrace.
He remembers her screams, the roar of the gun
The silence after they died.
He left her behind with her lover
Abandoned his dreams by her side

<bridge>
A coyote calls, in the chill
Of the night wind that howls in the hills
And echoes the sound
Of hoofbeats on the ground
As the posse moves in for the kill…

<chorus>
Wanderin’ Cowboy,  there’s no place to go
Too many tracks left behind.
Her mem’ry has found you, Wanderin’ Cowboy
Now you’ll find peace of mind

  ANOTHER STORY FOR ANOTHER DAY

I’m sending you this e-mail, just to say hello
And fill you in on all the latest news.
Idle conversation, an excuse to keep in touch,
Stories here and there that will amuse.
Since you left,I look for things, to keep me occupied,
And think of all the words I couldn’t say.
Ya know, sometimes I wonder why I never let you know.
But, That’s another story, for another day.

<chorus>
Yes,  just Another story for another day
Another  unimportant chapter ‘bout the one who got away
Just a minor detail, just a footnote on a page….
Just another story, for another day

<verse>
I saw your old friend Jim in town. He said tell you hello
And says to call him when you have some time
Joe, down at the bar, is wonderin’ why we ain’t been in.
Said he’s been savin’ up our favorite wine.
I told him you were on the road,and it would be a while
Before you’d be headed back this way
I don’t know why I didn’t  tell him you had made new plans.
That’s another story, for another day.

Yes, I guess I could have told him
you’d found someone new
And, I guess I should have told him
I wish the best for you
I guess I should have said
I hope you’ll both be happy, too,
And, I guess I should have told you
how much I loved you,
But……..

That’s another story for another day
Another unimportant chapter
 ‘bout the one who got away
Just a minor detail,
A footnote on the page
Just another story, for another day.

One Day’s Just Like Another

<verse>
It was Friday morning,turned the radio on
To hear the early drive-time news
Instead, I hear a lonely voice
Singing some long-forgotten blues

Then I realized, that somewhere along the way
The time,like you,  had disappeared,
This was Saturday.

<chorus>
The nights all last forever
And the days all run together,
Since you left my heart in pieces on the floor
You said that you’d be back again
‘But I’ll be damned if I remember when.
One day’s just like another, anymore.

Was it last week that you left me,
Or was it the week before?
One day’s just like another, anymore

<verse 2>
Saturday night,thought I’d  go out
And do a little dancin’
Kick up my heels, have some fun
Find someone to take a chance on
Then I realized, that somewhere along the way
The time, like you, had disappeared,
And i'd lost another day

<chorus>
The days all run together
 And The nights all last forever
Since you left my heart in pieces on the floor.
You said that you’d be back again
But I’ll be Damned  if I remember when.
One day’s just like another, anymore.

Was it last year that you left me
Or was it the year before?
One day’s just like another, anymore…..

<repeat chorus>
