81. Almedia Smith "Media" (James Paul "Bud" , William A , Henry ) was born on 18 Jul 1915 in Acworth Cobb County Georgia. She died on 14 Oct 1986 in GAinesville, Florida-at home on Alpine Dr. The cause of death was ovarian cancer. She was buried in Forest Meadows Cemetery,GAinesville, Florida.

Dad met mother at Smith Grocery Store in Acworth, GA. She finished HS at Awtrey School. Mother worked at the Grocery Store.
Mother had a Beauty Shop in Acworth, GA. off the side street of Main and where the old Post Office used to be on the corner. Believed to be Lemon Street.
Show in Smyrna was Media's Beauty Shop on Atlanta, Road then near B J 's Cafe.
Media (mother) was a beautician most of her working life.With shops in Acworh and later in Smyrna,GA.
Later in life she worked as a cashier at the Blank Hotel in Miami Beach, Florida.
She was very good with numbers and would have made an excellant accountant.
She finished High School I believe in Acworth, Ga. or Milton County.

Almedia married (1) William Herschel McClure Sr "Mac" son of Leonard McClure and Alva Shipp on 22 Sep 1932 in Acworth Georgia. The marriage ended in divorce.They were divorced in Terre Haute, IN. William was born on 10 Nov 1913 in Acworth,Cobb County,Georgia. He died on 10 Sep 2006 in Good Samaritan Hospital, Vincennes, IN. He was buried on 13 Sep 2006 in Bicknell Memorial Cemetery,Bicknell, IN.

Dad met mother at Smith Grocery Store in Acworth, GA. He was in charge of soda fountain at Durhan Brothers Pharmacy in Acworth, Ga. He finished the 8th Grade at Acworth High School.
Lived on Southside Drive in Acworth, GA across the RR tracks from Grandparents.

Dad was in the CCC Civilian Conservation Corps in Raburn County, near Clayton GA, He worked in the Commissary or Canteen and sleep there most of the time. Have not been able to find his discharge records as of yet. CCC in that area were active from 1933 to 1937. Lake Rabun from 1933-1942.
Wrote to Federal Government for his records. They said they could not find them.
The great depression from stock market collapse of 1929 until 1939.
Dad and mother ran a Cafe or restaurant in Acworth, Ga next to Garandparents house on Main Street.
Name was "Blue Bonnet Cafe". I worked there as a boy.
Behind the cafe was a very large 2 story house owned by Walt Smith- Brother of Bud Smith.
He also owned the Smith Service station which later became Hughes Service Station across from Grandparents house. Dad was called up from the selective service but Lockheed waivered him since he was a machinist working on defense contracts.
Dad went to school with Buck Tripp, who was wild and crazy.
Dad had a Curtis Candy Route (Baby Ruth & Butterfingers + others) and drove a station wagon. The english bull dog named spot rode with him often. Spot was run over by the garbage truck backing out of Grandparents drive way.
Dad also later had a Dry Cleaning Truck Route for JP. The route was in Kennesaw, GA.
Per Dad and Ramona Dad had a heart attack when they lived in Richmond, IN. I do not remember it.
Had vericose veins and poor circulation in his legs. Legs and ankles swell so much that he is unable to walk at times.Had a stroke in his 80's.
We lived on Mimosa Circle in Smyrna, Ga.
Dad worked at Tumpane Corporation, AVCO Corp, Independant Lock, Lockheed Aircraft, Vincenes College, Bicknell manor,North Knox HS, 1st Baptist Hospital, Bicknell Manor,
We lived at 4133 Fruitridge Ave, Terre Haute, IN.
Dad and Aubrey Chandler and I camped for a week or two on lake Acworth for a couple of summers.We fished and lived in tents and cooked on an open fire.
Dad's friend from Bethel Baptish Church was Sonny Davenport- worked for L & N Railroad
Dad remember a man by the name of Cliff Wade in Acworth who would burst coconuts with his fists and he also played a guitar with no strings. No one messed with him.

While living in Smyrna Dad had bird dogs- pointers, also a collie, two english bull dogs.

Smoked Tampa Nugget cigars for many years when younger. After quitting he kept one in his mouth bit did not light it for many years.
Had dogs names Tedddy-a black German shepherd and english shepherd mix and Bubba- a white
Pit Bull dog who tore limbs off of trees up to about 6'-7' high.
Health Issues: Vericose veins in his 30's, Stroke at about 90 yers old, Died of congestive heart failure.
Had problems with lower legs in his late 80's and 90's.
