About the Pleiades
The Pleiades star cluster, also known as the "Seven Sisters" is located in the constellation Taurus.  At a distance of 410 light years it is a relatively close open cluster easily visible to the naked eye on Fall and Winter nights.  The faint blue nebulosity surrounding the stars shine by reflected star light.

Location:  Dead Man Mountain, Northern Colorado 10,500 feet elevation.
Telescope:  AstroPhysics 130 EDT refractor.
Camera:  Pentax 6x7 medium format with field flattener.
Film:  Kodak PPF 400, 120 format.
Exposure:  Composite of two 80 minute photos.
Mount:  Modified Losmandy G-11.
Guide Scope:  Celestron 80mm with ST-4 auto-guider.
Notes:  Excellent sky condition but very cold!
