Freehold aka "Hershey"

Freehold     1998   17.2 H Black Bay Hanoverian Gelding     by ES Wummestern  X  MSB Windwriter/Wigwam.   “Hershey” is elegant and sweet as his name with tremendous presence.  He has a gentle and friendly temperament and loves people. He is an absolute gentleman and is easy to handle in all aspects.  He trailers and loads quietly, is easy to clip and bath and does well in the stall or turned out. Typically, he is very laid back.  I have had fawns get up from under his feet in the grass and he did not react at all.   He has 3 excellent balanced gaits and uses his back well.  As a dressage horse, he has a 9  (12-14" overstep) walk, a cadenced trot, and a canter to die for.  He placed third in Raleigh Breed Show as a yearling and was Reserve in the Four year old Colts and Stallions in hand and under saddle.  His sire, Wummestern was shown through PSG in dressage and has sired champions in both dressage and hunter competition.  Hershey was shown once at Training Level in 2002 with scores in the mid 60’s and again recently with good scores.

After several years of inconsistent riding due to owner's health issues and life, he was just recently, Jan 2008, started in a consistent training regimen and has made good progress.  Currently he is schooling second level movements, but needs to become stronger. Offering flying changes. He has a very soft mouth and is light in the bridle.   He has great ability as either a Hunter or Dressage prospect.

Hershey is a double bred Ferdinand.  Both the sire and the dam have Ferdinand in there bloodlines.  He was bred by Lucille Broadly of Honey Locust Farm in Chapel Hill, NC but born and raised at Century Oaks Farm.  He was professionally started and has predominantly been ridden by me. Wummestern passed away in 2006, so there will be no more Wummestern sons.   Hershey's super personality and kind temperament make him a fabulous amateur prospect for a tall rider who can get there leg on him.  He doesn't try to take advantage of you even when he doesn't know what you want.   He is very sound and requires no meds.  Video available.  Asking $30,000. bring an offer.

Guinivere    2001 MSB mare by Graf Genius X MSB Federleicht/Wummestern.

DEFINITE FEI POTENTIAL    Guinivere is small, elegant, and very

athletic. This beautiful registerd MSB mare shows great talent for jumping and is

currently schooling third/fourth level dressage movements.  The lateral work is

excellent and the medium gaits are developing. She has been schooled briefly just

to introduce her to jumping.  She is schooling flying changes and offering passage

and piaff steps.   Guinvere is easy to manage in all other aspects. She trailers, ties,

bathes, clips. She has excellent conformation with great feet and legs. This young

horse would make a great amateur or young rider prospect for a feeling rider with tact

and a quiet seat. She currently stands 15.3 hands.  Guinvere has unlimited potential

for the dressage and hunter disciplines. She tries very hard to please and is very smart

Her pedigree has jumping bloodlines for the hunter/jumper world and the Ferdinand

line is known for producing versatile horses for jumping and dressage.  Graf Genius

has a successful show record in jumping and was competed through fourth level

dressage.  The damsire, Wummestern, competed FEI dressage and goes back to

Werther, Hanoverian "Horse of the Year in Germany". Her dam competed successfully

at first level.

Guinivere had a really successful show year in 2006.  In Pinehurst, she was Champion

at Training Level, Open Senior Division with a high score of  75% and competed in the

Region 3 Championships and the BLM Championships. She also won the NC

Warmblood High Score Award at Pinehurst Fall Dressage.

In 2006, her USDF ranking at Training Level in the Open Divison was 171 out of

thousands of horses with a score average of 68%. She placed 12th in th BLM

Championshipse out of 30 horses in the Training Level Senior Division B,  behind the

top four year old in the country, BW Callista. She also made her debut at  First Level

in Lexington with a score of 64.5%.  In 2007 she competed at First Level scoring in the

mid 60's., scoring 8's on her leg yieldings.

Her lateral work is excellent and she is currently schooling single changes.  She scored

64% spring 2008 in her first third level test at a  schooling show.  I think her only

limitations at this point are rider related. She is so smart, sensitive ,and eager to please

that I struggle to keep up with her.  She is a blast to ride and a great partner.

A definite FEI prospect and a steal at  $45,000.  EVEN IN THIS ECONOMY!
