Denise began riding at the age of 5. During high school and college
she competed in western pleasure and games on less than optimum mounts and still was very competitive. She was the egg
and spoon champion of her area. During college, she majored in Pre-Veterinary medicine and completed a BS in animal
science, and later a Masters in Microbiology and Toxicology. She got her first exposure to dressage during that time and
a passion was born. Since the early 80's she's pursued dressage with a vengence. While juggling a career and caring
for a large farm, she managed to compete through fourth level on her schoolmaster, a wonderful Quarter Horse mare, Passaconnaway,
or "Jane". Jane gave Denise the opportunity to feel and understand straightness, collection, engagement, and throughness.
Next, she trained Face Value to third level, Unfortunately, he developed arthritic hocks and later,an injury. During
this time she also began training some of the young horses which she had bred.
