Who am I? - A question we've been asking ourselves for millenia.

Or in my case about 30 years...

What keeps me here? It's called a job. I work at the Mercy Medical Center in Redding.
What do I do?: I am a senior medical radiographic technologist. (Sounds good eh?)
What does that mean? I take medical X-rays, C.T. scans, perform special procedures, and fluorographic studies in our department and operating rooms. All-in-all, I've been doing this kind of work since 1988.

What do I do with my spare time? A trick question! There is no such thing in my universe!

Anyways, when I'm not slaving away; I game. I engage in roleplaying games and miniature wargames. I work with a non-profit convention group at CalPoly San Luis Obispo, PolyCon, and I am a reinactor for a ren-faire Guild based out of San Luis Obispo, The Hound's Haven.

I started gaming with a group in Merced California called Game Theory. A group that I expanded upon at CalPoly in SLO with the club Game Theory Chapter 2. (If you are in San Luis Obispo on a Friday night and want to game you might look them up.) Most of the original members have vanished or moved on in both chapters of the club, but, I manage to keep track of some of them. One of Game Theory's co-founders and one of my oldest and truest friends, Robert Johnson, has his website at The Leather Gnome. I heartily suggest you give my friend's site a visit, sign his guestbook and just say, "Hi!".

I still count myself among a group that we call the SLO Punks. These wild, wierd, and wacky people, out of San Luis Obispo (Are ye seeing a trend yet laddie?) constitute the bulk of what I consider my social group, and a vast majority of my closest friends. You can learn more about them at www.punk.net.

Here's what I look like these days.

Here is a picture of me and my friend Eric Aldrich at Fresno Faire in November 2003. This is us rather more than half tanked posing in the king's court while the king was off doing other kingly things, like presiding over the jousting tourney. Any faire-folk can tell you that this is a big "no-no". But our judgement was quite impaired, the court was undefended, and well it made for one of our best pictures of the year!

We are wearing some of our armor and other wargear as off-duty guards. The whole suit of of armor weighs somewhere inbetween seventy and eighty pounds. In this picture we are still wearing about fourty pounds each. Most of that weight made up by our chainmail shirts. And, no we didn't wind up in any trouble over this. Who would want to mess with a couple of drunk off-duty soldiers anyways? :)
