HELP! I STILL HAVE QUESTIONS!!!
WHO IS CJ?
CJ is a fellow WWer, who found that when she went "off program" a few days a week, she was able to beat a plateau, and have nice losses. Several people on the "Close to Goal" board on the WW site wanted details on how she ate and exercised to achieve these losses (1-3 lbs/week). The development of the "CJ Plan" was from her personal experiences and other WW members who followed this plan. Keen interest in the details about this eating plan lead to the development of this website.IS THIS PLAN SANCTIONED BY WW?
NO. This is not a sanctioned WW plan, but has worked well for many WWers who are losing less than 1/2 lb. a week or on a plateau.IF I FOLLOW THE CJ PLAN PERFECTLY, IS WEIGHT LOSS GUARANTEED?
As in life, nothing is guaranteed. Most people have good losses, but some people have had no losses or even small gains. It is suggested that you give the plan a trial of at least two weeks to see if it works for you.WHAT IF I ALTER THE CJ PLAN SLIGHTLY, WILL IT STILL WORK?
Life sometimes gets in the way. A day that you planned to be a medium points range day ends up being a high points range day. Or on a day when you planned to earn 4 APs you are unable to work out at all. Will the plan still work? The only way to find out is to finish off the week and weigh-in. The CJ Plan is not written in stone. It is a work in progress, with people finding new variations that work for them all the time. Feel free to post a message on the "Close to Goal" board to share any new variations that you've found to be successful.HOW MUCH FOOD SHOULD I EAT ON MY SSHDs?
At least 50 points. CJ doesn't journal on her SSHDs, but estimates that she eats between 55-65 pts.CJ DOES NOT JOURNAL ON HER SSHDs? WHAT IF I WANT TO JOURNAL?
No problem. Some people journal on the SSHDs and some don't. CJ wanted 2 days of freedom from having to journal every morsel of food. And she was concerned that if she wrote it down, it would be harder for her to eat at least the minimum of 50 pts. Others find they are more comfortable tracking the food they eat on their SSHDs so that they are sure they eat at least 50 pts. on their SSHDs. (As long as you eat 50-65 pts. on each of your SSHDs, do what works best for you!)YIKES! 50 TO 65 POINTS?WHAT IF I DON'T WANT TO EAT THAT MANY?
When starting the CJ Plan, many people are nervous about eating that many points on their SSHDs. If it makes you too uncomfortable, you might want to try the Wendy Plan or stick to regular WW. The CJ Plan does take a leap of faith. And be advised, it does not work for everyone. The only way to know if it will work for you is to try it.WHAT DAY SHOULD I WEIGH-IN?
For the best results, weigh-in on the morning of your SSHD, before you eat. This is because you will probably gain a few pounds for a few days after your SSHDs (often because your body is storing glycogen in your liver and retaining water along with it.) Then the scale will slowly starting working its way down. Many people don't lose those last pounds until the night before their weigh-in.WHAT IF I CAN'T EARN 14-19 APs ON THE 5 DAYS AFTER MY SSHDs?
The plan seems to work best for those who exercise alot, but if you earn less than 14 APs a week, try taking 1 SSHD, then do 3 low days and 3 medium days. This should allow you to bank a total of 25 pts. on the six days after your 1 SSHD.Note: There are some people who've had success taking 2 SSHDs, not working out, but eating at the low part of their points range for the rest of the week. (The author of this site got injured one week and tried it that way. She lost 1 lb that week, as opposed to 2.5 lbs. on the normal "CJ plan". So she still lost, but not as much as during the weeks she worked out.)
WHAT IF I EARN MORE THAN 5 APs ON MY SSLDs?
On the CJ plan, if you earn more than 5 APs a day, you need to eat those points. On the SSLDs you are trying to earn 8-10 total food and activity points. If you earn more APs on those days, you should eat more points. (i.e. if you earn 8 APs on a SSLD and are in the 18-23 point range, then you would have 21 points to eat instead of 18 because you would have banked 3 points more than the CJ maximum of 5 APs per day.)WHAT IF I WANT TO BANK MORE THAN 35 TOTAL FOOD/ACTIVITY POINTS?
DON'T DO IT!!! People have not had good results doing this.IF I FOLLOW THIS PLAN, WON'T I GO OVER THE POINTS ALLOWED BY WW?
YES. In following the "CJ Plan" you will go over the total allowable points for the week on the WW plan. In others words if you are in the 20-25 point range the most points WW says you should eat in one week is 175 points + any APs you earn. If you were earning 5 APs, 6 days a week your allowable WW total would be: 175 food points + 24 Aps (4 x 6 because ww only allows for 4 AP per day) = 199 points. It is not unusual for a person following the "CJ Plan" to eat 220-240 points for a week. This is over the maximum for the WW plan. And yet, for many of us exercisers with typically slow losses or those on a plateau, this plan works for better than the regular ol' WW.OTHER QUESTIONS?
First read all of the information and check the FAQs. If you still have questions, go to the "Close to Goal Board" (click on this link) on the WW site, and post your question. Be patient. It might take a full day to get an answer depending on who is logged in. But someone will respond. (It's helpful to name your thread something like "CJ plan Question".)CLOSE TO GOAL BOARD?
The "Close to Goal" board used to be called the "Plateaus/A Few to Lose" board. Many of us on the board are not close to goal. So don't worry how close or far you are from your goal. Everyone is welcome. The CJ Plan is NOT affiliated with or sanctioned by WW. This website was put together based on the experiences of several WW members. It is not officially sanctioned or recognized by WW. If you try the CJ plan, you do so with the knowledge that the people who contributed information to this website are not doctors or health practioners. ALWAYS consult a doctor first before beginning a diet/exercise regime. They will advise you if this plan is healthy for you.
