UPDATE NOTES, 06/16/07:
GENERAL SITE NEWS & MISC.:
First, many many MANY thanks to Matthew (of Chad & Matthew's Custom Figures), who rescued all the old site files from certain doom! Thanks to Matthew's work, the site is now pretty much fully recovered to pre-hiatus strength! All the old photos and pages should be completely restored now. Please let us know of any broken links and whatnot floating around out there still. Again, Matthew, our eternal thanks! Hope you're enjoying your Hydrofoil!
You should have noted the slight URL adjustment as well (if you followed the link from the last front page). We're sticking with the current host for now, but due to some server space limitations, we're shuffling a few things around in order to be able to keep everything up and running (and updatable). A more permanent server move is in the works, but is now probably pushed out to mid-2008.
Yes, in addition to the return of all the old stuff, there are some new things in store! New site content is slowly taking shape, and will premiere after we have completed our major strategic movement of resources in a few weeks (a monumental task akin to our move from Springfield to Cobra Island a few years ago). Stay tuned...but don't hold your breath. =X^D
As always, many thanks to all of you fellow brothers and sisters of the Hooded Serpent who visit and derive enjoyment from our visions and interpretations of Cobra here at Cobra Command Online. We appreciate it!
UPDATE NOTES, 11/22/06:
GENERAL SITE NEWS & MISC.:
So...after a couple of years of coiling up tight inside the snake den, we're back online! Let it suffice to say that there were a lot of...issues...to deal with since our last update. The enemies of Cobra are many and strong, and at times the struggle to achieve our goals over the last couple of years became simply a struggle to survive. But surrender is not in our nature! We are Cobra, and we will triumph!
So what's in store now? For starters, this new home on the Web is only temporary. Within the next year we plan to shift the site to a new host. Most of the original photo and page files were lost on the old server, and will have to be recovered from backup...a task that will likely take a while, as the files are pretty spread out across MANY backup disks. Also, since the last update, there hasn't been much in the way of new projects on the board. So until we can move everything to the new host, please pardon the not-always-working internal site page links, and expect the only updates to be re-loading the original material that was last available at the time CCO went (mostly) kaput.
Many thanks to all of you who have kept your faith to the cause of the hooded serpent over these last two years of CCO site inactivity, and kept us "in the game". For those of you who are rediscovering the wonders of Cobra Command Online, we say, "Welcome back!" And for those who are only just now discovering our web presence, we welcome you to our online home with open coils, and invite you to join the legions who enjoy our visions and interpretations of Cobra Command. We appreciate your patronage.
UPDATE NOTES, 07/24/04:
GENERAL SITE NEWS & MISC.:
Yup, we're back. After much digging, the site has returned from what was apparently certain death. Turns out the server move a few months back didn't wipe out EVERYTHING. Plus, our recent visit with General Hawk, of General's Joes fame, stirred up the desire to once again return to the web to continue spreading the message of Cobra Command to the web-surfing masses around the world.
As we have always said, and will continue to say, thanks very much to everyone who takes the time to visit CCO. We appreciate your patronage, and hope you continue to enjoy our visions and interpretations of Cobra Command.
UPDATE NOTES, 12/29/03:
GENERAL SITE NEWS & MISC.:
Alright, so...what was added this time? Nothing really. This update is purely for informational purposes.
As of right now, due to other commitments and changing priorities, we do not plan to be adding any new material to CCO in 2004. Yep, we're taking a break from site work for (at least) a year. We're spread too thin over too many projects, and there are other far more important things that need attending to over the course of the next year. Most of those things are job-related. The aforementioned "long-term" projects are now pushed out even farther, and the FAQ page likely won't be built until 2005. We will, however, be sticking around for the foreseeable future. Remember, good things always come to those who wait...
As always, thanks to everyone who takes the time to visit CCO. We appreciate your patronage, and hope you continue to enjoy our visions and interpretations of Cobra Command (few and far-between as they may be these days).
UPDATE NOTES, 11/14/03:
GENERAL SITE NEWS & MISC.:
Notice the changes? Thought you would! =8^D Rare is it that we cave in to ANYTHING, but popular demand was overwhelmingly for us adding an Updates Page. While integrating this new page into the site, it became apparent that we needed to clean house and rearrange to spruce things up here at CCO, making things a little more organized and also more readily updatable as the site slowly but surely grows. Does this mean there's about to be another dio added soon? Not really. However, it DOES mean that it will be easier to add things to the site now.
There are currently no dio projects in the works, short-term. There are some long-term projects on the stove, as always. Look for a FAQ page before too much longer. The Links Page has been updated to clean out dead links and add some new ones. Also updated the Customs page to add some custom dossiers written for existing figures that better suit the figure (in our opinion).
As always, thanks to everyone who takes the time to visit CCO. We appreciate your patronage, and hope you continue to enjoy our visions and interpretations of Cobra Command.
