Screwed up Sophie
I was knitting away at happy hour on Friday night and didn't have the pattern with me. But that's actually not
what screwed me up. When I printed out the pattern, the sides didn't print--I think most web sites with patterns are
set up so that this doesn't happen. Anyway, I missed a couple rows of decreases on the bag.
I decided to keep it as is. So it's going to be wider at the top than other people's Sophie bags. I just
hope I don't run out of yarn for the handles....

I brought my Sophie Bag to work....
...and got so many compliments on the color (9433). I chose it because it works for both summer and fall and I think it will look great felted. I'm trying
hard to convert some of my co-workers to knitting. I think it's hard to motivate folks initially because it's tricky
to get the tension right and to avoid dropping stitches. I have faith that I'll have at least one convert!

New scarf project...
using Debbie Bliss Soho. It was on sale at my LYS a while back and I got 3 balls at a good price. I found
this pattern online which looks pretty cool:

Excellent progress on Sophie bag...
for me anyway. I've worked on it everyday that I knit, and through both Ioan Gruffud movies I've watched ; )

Finished Antique Stitch Scarf...
from Vogue Knitting Summer 2005. I used the Blue Sky Alpaca's Alpaca Silk but made it only with one ball of yarn
and made it slightlier skinnier than the pattern calls for. I think it works though. I haven't blocked it, but I think
it should as the sides appear to flare out. This could be my imagination...

Knitting Sophie bag
I've been inspired by Alison to knit my own Sophie bag. I have several skeins of Cascade Sierra laying around and decided on a hot pink color that can work for both summer
and fall. I saw it on Julie's site without the twirled strap which I think I prefer....

The new Gedifra 52 book...
is up on the Knitting Fever web site. There are a couple of cool items like this coat made out of Capriola yarn, and this cabled sweater made with Shanina yarn. They also have a preview of the new Debbie Bliss Simply Soft yarn and book. This book is the one you get free this fall if you join her club. I can't decide if I want to spend money on it or not. I had a bad experience with a beret (the free pattern you receive) when I was a kid (it was forced onto my head), and I don't think I want to relive the experience by knitting
one myself....

Finished "Staff Shrug"
So I finally finished the Ribbed Shrug by Pam Allen from this summer's Interweave Knits and I rushed to seam it so I could wear it. It looks hideous, because I did a crappy job. I don't believe
that the pattern specifies what type of stitch to use for the seam, but I think I'll have to use Mattress Stitch because when
this thing is on, it gets stretched out and the seams look even worse!

New blog, lost blog
So my previous blog appears to have disappeared into cyberspace hell. I'm hoping to have a page with some of the
lost entries, but it doesn't look too promising. I'm keeping my hopes up however....
