While I can provide hard copy editing, where I mark my changes on your printed document for you to type in later, I prefer soft copy editing, where I mark my changes on an electronic version of your document, usually using Word's Track Changes function. Using this function, you can see each change I made and choose to accept it or reject it. If you have never worked with this function of Word before, I have created instructions regarding how to use Track Changes and can provide a marked-up example so that you can play around and determine whether you might like Track Changes (most of my clients end up loving it!)

I offer a very personal service, tailoring my skills to fit your specific needs. While it is often difficult to catch me via telephone, you can be in frequent contact with me via email as I work on your document. I also make myself available to answer questions once a project is completed. As I have worked with many different publications (see my credentials), I have also come to understand various aspects of publishing and know of many books and websites that are useful to authors and would be more than happy to share my knowledge with you if you are new to the process.

Please contact me if you have any questions regarding the type of editing your manuscript would require or your needs for a specific project. For immediate needs, please contact me at least seven days in advance of your anticipated deadline so that we can agree on the services/pricing and ensure that your project’s needs will fit into our work schedules.

*For a rough estimate of how much your project might cost, assume I edit at a rate of 5-8 pages per hour. If you have a 50-page document and you want Light editing, your total amount due would probably be somewhere between $88 and $140 (50/8 = 6.25 x $14 = $87.50 and 50/5 = 10 x $14 = $140). I might edit as many as 10 pages per hour or as few as 2 depending on the writing style and level of edit, but this calculation provides a general idea of your average costs.
