What is your background?	I was certified in Classical Homeopathy in 1997 and became a Doctor of Acupuncture in 2003. I was educated at Yale (B.A.) and the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (M.S.). I received my homeopathic training at the New York School of Homeopathy (1993-95), the Homeopathic Master Clinician Course (Boston; 1995-97), the Dynamis School of Homeopathy (Toronto; 1997-99), and the New England Homeopathic Academy (Boston; 2007-09). I have been in private practice in NYC since 1997 and in 2007 opened a branch practice in Leesburg, VA (northern Virginia), where I see patients once every 8 weeks. I have also given seminars in homeopathy. Since 2008 I have been a member of the board of the Council for Homeopathic Certification, and I serve as chair of the Case Review Committee.
What is homeopathy?	For nearly every disease or condition, there's a noninvasive, nontoxic cure. It may take some effort initially to find it, but the long-term results are superior and far easier than drug-based solutions. Homeopathy is the way to make it happen. Homeopathy is distinct from using vitamins and supplements, which may support good health but rarely cure. Homeopathic medicines stimulate the self-healing mechanism. They are derived from plant, mineral or other natural sources, are regulated by the FDA and sold over-the-counter. What types of problems do you treat?	I've helped people with a wide variety of acute and chronic complaints. Since homeopathy treats the whole person, there is no specialization along anatomical lines. For a look at some cases from my practice, click on Case Histories.
Do you treat children?	Children are twenty percent of my practice. They respond especially well to homeopathy, and they love it too!
How does acupuncture fit into your practice?	Acupuncture is another way to stimulate self-healing. I use acupuncture mainly for musculoskeletal problems and stress relief.
I am currently on meds. Will homeopathy interfere?	There is no interaction between homeopathic medicines and conventional medications.
Should I get the swine flu shot?	Vaccines contain toxins that suppress the immune system. For protection against disease, the best strategy is to strengthen the immune system, not weaken it. For more information, see my paper, "Homeoprophylaxis: Better than Vaccination?" (Papers on Health)
I'm extremely skeptical about homeopathy.	Skepticism is healthy. All scientists are skeptics. But to be scientific, we have to be objective and honest. If something works, there has to be a reason for it, even if we don't understand the principles involved.
Does homeopathy work by placebo effect?	No. For any given person and condition, only a few medicines will work. If the treatment were placebo, any medicine would do the job (and my job would be a lot easier!). I once asked a new patient what she thought of homeopathy, and she said, "I think it's poppycock!" But she was cured of a serious Mycobacterium avium-intracellulare infection that had not yielded to antibiotics.
