
Here are Sylvia and Sandra Apple at about the age of one. Usually, Sylvia was placed to the viewer's left because she is 8 minutes older than Sandra. However, in my family we play a game called Spot the Twin, because we can't really be sure which twin is which in any given picture. Care to guess?
This picture was obviously well ensconced in Charles' (dad's) wallet for a long time. The crease down the center and the ravaged edges indicate the picture was folded and stored somewhere it was easy for Charles access. Charles was a traveling salesman for much of his life, and this picture must have been a source of some pride and comfort.
