Emmanuel Episcopal Church is a congregation of believers who praise God through the liturgical riches of the Book of Common Prayer; who participate in Christian Education programs that seek to deepen the faith of all persons of all ages; who offer fellowship activities that bind us to one another; and who serve humanity through evangelism and outreach programs that use our time, talent, and material gifts to the glory of God. Emmanuel CommissionsAs a lay-led parish, Emmanuel relies upon the members, or laity, of the church to be responsible for certain functions of our church. These functions have been organized into nine commissions, or committees. The chair of each commission is responsible for recruiting, training, encouraging, and assisting volunteers in the Emmanuel community. Anyone in the congregation with an interest in a particular commission is welcome and encouraged to attend and participate in commission meetings. Most commissions meet at least four times a year, depending on their needs. Altar GuildResponsible for the preparation and maintenance of the altar for communion, maintains flower schedule for altar arrangements. ColumbariumUse and maintenance of Columbarium and garden. EducationDevelopment and implementation of Christian education for all ages. FellowshipDevelop and Schedule fellowship opportunities for the parish including greeters, coffee hour, dinners. Finance/StewardshipPrepare and monitor annual budget for parish, request and monitor annual pledging for parish, oversee bank accounts/funds. OutreachIdentify community needs and develop and implement programs to assist with meeting these needs. PastoralMonitor spiritual and health needs of the parish, includes Lay Eucharistic Ministers for parishioners who are unable to attend our Sunday services. PropertyMonitor and address physical property needs of the church. WorshipResponsible for aspects of Sunday services including music, form of service, ushers, acolytes. In addition to an adult Sunday School class, Emmanuel offers Sunday School programs for children from preschool through elementary school, and a Confirmation class when numbers permit. PAX youth groupEmmanuel also offers a youth program, PAX, for middle school and high school aged youth who have been confirmed.
