Our 2009 Enroute Reunion was enjoyed by all.

Everyone has said, they thoroughly enjoyed the reunion and seeing so many old friends and making new ones.

Here is the 2009 Enroute reunion summary:

Wednesday evening:   Several members enjoyed dining at the Texas Steakhouse, returning to the hospitality room to get our reunion started in great fashion.

Thursday:  Due to the rain, only a few members went to the Young’s Dairy for lunch. Later in the evening, we all enjoyed getting together at Beef-O-Brady’s. Fantastic turn out.  Truly SUPERB!!  Thanks goes to Mr. Todd Koogler & Staff at Beef’s for having us.

Friday:  We toured a C-5A at Wright Patterson AFB. The base provided (4) crew members to answer questions. The aircraft had a hydraulic leak and several of our members offered to help repair the leak, but the mechanics thought they could handle it without our help.

Friday evening:   We all enjoyed the catered German banquet at a local fellowship hall. The lady that owns the catering company, also works with Enrouter Ernesto Goenaga during the day.  Donna and her crew did an  OUTSTANDING   job on the food & decorations. Truly SUPERB!!

Saturday:  Members toured the Air Museum and took advantage of the various places of interest located in Fairborn and Dayton, Ohio.

Saturday afternoon:   A group photo was taken with a special panoramic camera in front of the C-141C on display at the Wright Patterson AFB Air Museum. Tail # 660177 – last C-141 to be retired.

Another group photo was taken Saturday evening at the hotel, prior the banquet.

Folks, these pictures are awesome and will be cherished for years to come.

Please note:  For our members who attended the reunion and saw the panoramic pictures, these were the first printing. The photographer did not have the time to photo shop the pictures. The pictures you order, will have the colors enhanced and the airplane centered.

The WPAFB Honor Guard opened the Saturday evening banquet by posting our nations colors.

The hotel served an OUTSTANDING dinner banquet.

During the reunion program, Steve Pavon and Stan Miller held a small memorial service for all of the Enrouters that have passed away.

At the end of the reunion program, the WPAFB Honor Guard retired our nations colors. The Honor Guard did a SUPERB job and was appreciated by all.

435th OMS Plaque

Enrouter Ernesto Goenaga has accepted the project of collecting funds, having a plaque made and will be mounted in Memorial Park at the WPAFB Air Museum.

This plaque is going to cost in the neighborhood of $2500 (+/-).

Various Air Force Units already have their plaques on display in the Memorial Park at the Air Force Museum.

Our plaque will showcase the 435th OMS Enroute MX Section and when folks walk through the park, the plaque will display our OUTSTANDING Enroute Section, for people to view for years to come.

Please check out the plaques another Enroute Station (610th MASS) presented and have displayed at the Air Museum. (Ours will be very similar)

Ernesto Goenaga will be contacting everyone in the near future and asking for contributions.

More information will be soon forthcoming. Once the plaque is ready, a dedication ceremony will be held at the WPAFB Air Museum and everyone will be invited to attend. This will be a proud moment when our plaque is proudly displayed for the public to see the OUTSTANDING Unit, the 435th OMS Enroute MX was.

Holiday Inn Fairborn was our Reunion Hotel. The hotel and staff were SUPERB!!

Ms. Kris Davis, Sales Manager is also given a special thanks and recognition for her OUTSTANDING support.

Greene County Visitors and Convention Bureau provided everyone with customized name tags, posters, banners and many other items of interest for our reunion. A special thanks goes to Ms. Lisa Willis for her OUTSTANDING support.

Both Ms Davis and Ms Willis were totally awesome in helping me with our reunion and it being the successful reunion it was.  Ladies, thanks a million.

I would like to ask everyone to keep Jim Warren, John Kettley, Evie Fulmer and John “Bruno’s” brother in your prayers.  Jim was involved in an ATV accident and is paralyzed.  John Kettley had open heart 7 bypass surgery today. Bruno’s brothers health is in very bad shape. (I believe his heart is having serious problems) Evie has lost her vision in one eye and has very limited vision in her other eye.

I would like to ask folks who took pictures of the reunion, to please send them to me on CD disks. Due to being extremely busy at the reunion, I didn’t get a chance to take that many pictures.

I put the pictures into a digital picture frame for Jim Warren and presented the frame to him at the hospital.

Thanks to everyone for the outstanding door prizes that were donated and your kind words.

The 2011 reunion was held at Dover AFB, Delaware, 6-9 October 2011. AWESOME !!!
