We want you to join us for a fantastic week in paradise! Snorkel on the world's second largest barrier reef,
make friends with trigger fish, pet sharks and rays, bond with palm trees swaying in the wind, meet some of the friendliest
people on earth and experience the mysteries of our underwater world from a knowledgeable, retired professor
and his wife whose goal is to love life and share the good life with others. Oh, and you can take side trips to Mayan
ruins, tube through underground rivers, scuba at the Blue Hole...
Trip Details:
Our eco-tourist group will stay on Ambergris Caye for one week, April 16-23, 2007. Everyone should make their own flight
arrangements to Belize International Airport serviced by American Airlines, Continental Airlines and USAir. You will be met
by one of the tour leaders (Dr. Dale or Mrs. Sally Ingmanson) for transfer to an intra-country flight to Ambergris Caye.
You will be transferred by taxi to Neptune House, our base facility, at the Belize Marine Tropical Research and Education
Center (BZTREC). The center is owned and operated by Dr. and Mrs. Ken Mattes for education groups, researchers and eco-tourists.
Each day we will go to different coastal sites for snorkeling. Our boat will be the R/V Goliath, a forty eight foot catamaran
skippered by Captain Norman Eiley, a Belizean sea guide.
The all-inclusive cost will be US $910. This price includes shared room (dorm-type) situated around a fresh water pool,
three full meals per day (home style), all boat costs and round trip airfare from Belize International Airport to Ambergris
Caye via Maya Air. Arrival tax is US $0.75 and departure tax is US $31.00 paid at the airport of entry. The payment schedule
is US $100 due on or before February 20, $400 due March 1, and the balance due March 16, 2007.
The trip is limited to twenty people so sign up soon. This ensures a high quality, eco-tourism experience.
There will be an open day for shopping or side trips which are extra (not included in the trip cost). We can assist
in booking day trips to Altun Ha Mayan ruin, Belize Zoo, underground cave tubing or other options. SCUBA dives are extra for
certified divers and can be arranged.
You need to be able to swim and use fins, mask and snorkel. You need to provide evidence of medical coverage. You
must be over 18 years old or 14-17 and accompanied by an adult. You need to have a valid USA passport.
