Landscapes

Photos by Michael Holland

White light is a new series of abstract images that have a common thread, they are all created in the same place with the same source of light. The images are like the ones we see all the time, the ones you see on reflective surfaces. My purpose is to take objects that are familiar and bend them around other surfaces until they are no longer recognizable, until they become a new quantity. This allows the viewer to create their own interpretation.

The landscape series began in 2004 while visiting Kitty Hawk and Kill Devil Hills in North Carolina. The following year, I was in California, Manhattan Beach, and caught a good sunset. The reverse image brings out a new palette of colors that lend to a different land.
