This cake was made for my dear niece Alex to celebrate her 9th. birthday. She loves her riding lessons and the ponies she gets to ride. I designed this cake aiming to please such a young girl enthusiast, hence all the flowers and other little critters and items (look carefully and you'll spot a mouse, four bees, a butterfly, and a mushroom)! This cake is made from all edible items. The pony is hand molded of a fondant/gumpaste mix with the dark brown mane, tail, spots and hooves being of chocolate fondant, the fence, bees, butterfly, and mushroom are gumpaste using cutters, the flowers are fondant, the rocks and lettering are chocolate. I hope you like it - it was such a fun cake to make!
