Being queen of the hive it was inevitable that I would at some point try and make a beehive cake! This was for Loren, the best friend for which anyone could ever wish. She is as industrious and as full of good works as any bee I've seen! The hive was yellow cake and the petal shape base cake was devil's food. Everything on the cake is handmade and edible - either buttercream or royal icing, or coloured chocolate. The 18 tiny chocolate bees were quite a challenge - I was seeing double by the time I finished those!
