This was for my nephew Richard's 12th. birthday. He loves camping, Scouts, and outdoor fun, and is working towards his goal to become an Eagle scout. Most of the ideas on this cake came from various Wilton yearbooks, and I just patched them together to make the scene I wanted. The trees are made from royal icing on sugar cones, and the trunks are Cadbury's Flakes. The chocolate rocks make yet another appearance for the circle of stones around the campfire and border. The little fellows in the sleeping bags are all figure piped in buttercream over a graham cracker (to give me a basic shape to start with), and the sign post is hand cast in chocolate. The cake was devil's food and the base icing milk chocolate.
