This cake was of my own design for Mother's Day. I liked the idea of a nurturing angel who helps the flowers grow, just like mothers help there children. I should work for Hallmark shouldn't I? Anyway, the angel and watering cans are hand made chocolate, and the rest is buttercream with royal icing flowers. I used piping gel tinted blue to give the water effect. The hardest thing was making the watering cans to go on the sides with toothpicks mounted in them so they wouldn't slide off the sides of the cake. I had to get the picks just right, or the pick would show up on the front of the watering can. It took some time, but I was pleased with the results as everything "worked" and stayed where it was supposed to be!
