I've been longing to make another candy cake and use M&M's for the past six months. The right opportunity just didn't present itself! Well, Easter solved that problem. I needed a cake that was quick to make and that it's main requirement was that it basically be just chocolate! I liked the idea of chocolate Easter baskets filled with the pastel candy and the little plastic mini M&M guys as toppers and decoration. The little basket of mini M&M's (bottom right of the cake board)is handmade and edible. It is a marshmallow covered in chocolate fondant with a braided fondant handle. I felt strongly that the little fellows should celebrate the true meaning of Easter so they are happily clutching their signs that "Jesus Lives", "He is Risen", and "He's alive!".
