I wish I could claim the credit for designing this cake but cannot! This is a Debbie Brown cake design from her book "50 Easy Party Cakes". It provided the perfect answer to my dilemma. Christie really wanted a cake for her birthday just like the Harvest Mice cake. Due to time constraints I simply did not have the time available to repeat the whole design. This cake gave the major requirements for Christie - the edible pumpkin and mice - without all the other details. I followed the directions pretty much to the letter but used my Pampered Chef batter bowl to bake the bottom half of the cake, and one half of the Wilton Sports Ball pan to form the top half of the cake. The cake covering and details are made from Chocopan including the mice, leaves, vines, chimney, stalk. The only detail I added to the design beyond that in the book was to vein the leaves and add quite a few more of them. I know that Christie's brothers and sisters also like to eat the Chocopan modelled items and wanted to have enough to go around! I'm thrilled to say that she really seemed to like the cake and said it was just what she wanted. She made my day!
