Amy loves Polly Pocket and needed a cake that she could share with all her friends at school during lunch. She has enjoyed seeing her brother's Lego cakes, so I thought I'd make a "girlie" version of something similar. I wanted to add some things that were edible for her since the children all seem to get a real kick out of that. To that end I decided to make the palm trees, turtles, shells, lettering and blanket edible. The car, Polly Pocket, and surf board are plastic and come in the Beach S.U.V. playset. This was not the quickest of quick cakes since the trees are a little time consuming (cutting the leaves takes the most time). However, by the time I got to the third tree, they started rocking right along. If you liked the idea but didn't want to spend the extra time, you could always buy plastic palm trees as well. The sand is graham cracker crumbs. Hope you like it!
