I designed this cake for Isaac who was celebrating his 8th birthday with an army/camouflage theme. Every bit of this is edible, including the little green army men! In order to be able to have chocolate soldiers, I had my first attempt at creating my own molds with casting gel. I really loved working with this new technique, and am thrilled they came out OK. The fact that they looked just like their plastic counterparts and yet were edible seemed to be a big hit with the children. The best part of this cake though was when Isaac looked back to his mom with his face lit up and said, "It's just what I wanted!". It made every bit of effort worthwhile. Happy Birthday, Isaac!
