The program of treatment for cancer patients includes medical hypnosis and guided imagery to support all treatments and other areas of the healing journey. For example:
Guided Imagery for Surgery
Research shows that guided imagery can play a valuable role in improving the experience of surgical patients.  The imagery for individuals about to undergo surgery for cancer or related plastic surgery is designed to decrease anxiety and to focus the subconscious on a successful outcome and on healing.

Guided Imagery for Chemotherapy or Radiation
Again the imagery is designed with the individual to alleviate their fears and to focus on a desired outcome.  Many patients using relaxation and imagery show more moderate experiences of nausea and anxiety by focusing on the treatment as an important part of the healing process.

Guided Imagery for Pain Management
While pain medication remains the primary treatment for patients who are experiencing pain or discomfort from cancer or cancer treatments, guided imagery is a proven asset in the overall management of pain.  A number of studies show that imagery is effective in the experience of pain and distressing sensations in cancer patients.

Dialoging With Your Symptom or Illness
It is natural to have negative feelings toward your symptom or illness.  It is possible to have a kind of dialogue with the symptom or illness, in ordrer to understand what it needs or what function it may be serving.  This session is interactive if done live in hypnotherapists office.  It can also be done, using a custom tape or cd that guides an inner dialogue to achieve relief of the symptom or heaing of the illness and to facilitate a sense of inner peace.

Guided Imagery for Quality of Life
Studies show that guided imagery enhances the cancer patient's quality of life.  Quality of life in this situation refers to issues such as levels of unhappiness, insomia, nervousness, discomfort, and apprehension about treatment and survival.  Substantial evidence indicates that quality of life is a significant factor in the response to chemotherapy and survival rates.

Imagery for Wellness
Once treatment is completed and the focus is on living healthy, imagery for wellness gives the body and mind appropriate messages to support this focus.  There is life after and beyond cancer and this imagery is designed to identify what wellness means for each individual.
