!!! WARNING !!! to anyone thinking about converting a beetle, the front steering components will not handle the weight of 6 US-125 batteries (432 lbs). The lower ball joint on the right completely broke, luckily at less than 10mph, not at highway speed 5 minutes earlier! I will post pictures on this web site.  I would recommend not as much weight up front, or finding another setup to handle the weight.
