August, 1938…Crowds and motion picture camera-men begin to gather around the Lufthansa Focke-Wulf 200 Condor as it arrived at Floyd Bennett Field after completing the first non-stop flight from Berlin to New York. The non-stop distance of nearly 4,000 miles was covered in 24 hr, 36 min, at an average speed of 160 mph.
