The only Howard DGA-6 ever made, "Mr. Mulligan" was built in 1934. The plane was piloted to first place finishes in the 1935 Bendix Races (avg. speed 238.7 mph) and the 1935 Thompson Trophy Races. A propeller blade broke off during the 1936 Bendix Races and the one-of-a-kind plane was destroyed. The famous plane is shown here at Floyd Bennett Field in April, 1935.
