To access the downloaded file from Bridge Baron 14(TM). I assume it will work similarly in earlier and later versions. For other bridge playing programs, supposedly, these hands can be read as well, although I have not tested them in other programs. You will have to follow instructions for accessing library files in your bridge software. The file extension for these files is ????????.ppl. 1) Open Bridge Baron and click on the tools button. 2) Click on the Deal Library Button. 3) Click on the Retrieve Files from Library File Button 4) Once file located, (suggest saving file to the C: drive when downloading to make locating the file easier) click on file and click the open button. 5) For the student series, sit in the South Seat, select a hand and click OK. South should play the hands in the club and diamond series, and have the key play on defense in the heart series hands. 6) When asked if you wish to bid and play the hands as selected, I suggest you click the No button the first time you play a particular hand. Clicking yes will direct you to the correct bids and plays. I would like you to try it on your own first. On lesson series hands, the object depends on which lesson series you are working on. Club and Diamond series is to bid to the correct contract and make it. The heart series is to set the contract the opponents get to. On game series hands, there is a suggested auction, and the bidding is geared mainly to Club series, with only Staymen, Blackwood, and Gerber conventions used. I do use weak two bids in some of the hands when applicable. I will try to have commentary on game series hands, but that is not guaranteed with every hand. Once play has been completed, you can review the auction, the play, and read the commentary. You can also return to the main menu to access other hands or replay the current hand. Repeat from step 2.
