From LDS Film: DEATH: #820714, San José de Peñuelas: María Sabina DIAS, 55; muere 07 Jan 1818, Peñuelas. Casada con Pedro QUIRINDONGO, un negro olandés (mulatto).Testó (She made a Will.) Su albacea (executor), su esposo Pedro QUIRIDONGO.(sic)

Question:

Was the Sabina DIAS surname well known in Curacao at her birth date circa 1763?

Questions:

Was a WILL needed because Pedro was a “negro olandes” and therefore still considered a slave under the eyes of the law in PR and to do otherwise he would not have been able to defend his “legal rights” 55 yrs BEFORE abolition?

Did Pedro and/or Juan Pedro and/or family conspire in the Slave revolt of 1795 and were banned in Curacao?
