yDNA results confirm European origin lineage This means that thousands of years ago there existed a European man in (Sephardi) Facsani, Romania, whose ancestors traveled originally from sub Sahara Africa migrating subsequently according to my yDNA “I” and “I1b” Haplogroup to (a) European Romania, Switzerland, Holland, and (b) to far off Asian Malaysia, where a male child was sired to initiate a perfect eight (8) marker yDNA match that still endures in “Malaysia (Indian)” today four hundred (400) yrs later who is in a direct blood ancestry lineage to me and on to (c) the New World’s Curacao, PR and the USA. This does not rule out that a Malaysian, Indian, Black or Amerindian female mated with a male in the ancestry lineage recently in the Cro-Magnon-humanoid migration trek for survival.

Padre Paul Brenneker
Padre Brenneker was from Holland and he saw the
proliferation of illiterate, unwashed sub-Sahara Black African descendants in Curacao
using Spanish pidgin Papiamento with improvised made-up colloquial Curacao
Papiamento slang as their vernacular.

The Curacao ambience in many ways looked and “felt” like the sub-Sahara Africa to Padre Brenneker (and any European) as much as Haiti looks and “feels” to any outsider like the sub-Sahara Africa today. Padre Brenneker seems to have dismissed the indigenous Amerindian, Ibero-Jewish and neighboring Spanish-speaking contributions. Unfortunately Brenneker was not a linguist, his prime and only concern was Oral History (Volkskunde) from Curacao Blacks who by the time Padre Brenneker arrived (circa 1950) seemed aboriginal. The Curacao Blacks were already acculturated in the Spanish pidgin Papiamento vernacular and some knew smatterings of Dutch Papiamento script by the mid 20th century.
Blacks in Curacao had forgotten most of if not ALL the sub-Sahara Africa experience circa 1950 that for the most part was very meager to begin with since their slave forefathers had arrived extremely young from a stone-age culture which endures not to differently in some countries in sub-Sahara Africa today bereft of infrastructure. Their slave fore-bearers did not have the bare essentials of clothing and shoes. Black Slaves came from a dangerous ferocious animal-infested and disease-ridden sub-Sahara Africa equipped with no surnames to distinguish their family ancestry armed mentally only with an all-confusing various over one (1) thousand) dialects.
Brenneker was no scholar interested in fact and did not research the Spanish, the indigenous people, the Ibero-Jewish Diaspora Oral History nor the languages of old Dutch, old Spanish and especially the enduring 450 yr (1500-1950) effects of the Spanish language on Curacao from nearby Venezuela, (Spanish Main) Terra Firma and the larger islands of the Spanish-speaking West Indies.
After all, it was the Ibero-Europeans who first landed in the New World and imposed their Ibero languages and cultures, which still survive in slightly, altered forms today. Curacao did not meet world standards in schooling until 1980. The populace used the irregular Spanish Pidgin Papiamento vernacular but the official language since 1634 was and is Dutch in schools and government, which made teaching the Dutch language from… absolutely impossible to… extremely difficult. This is similar to the Catholic Church using standardized Latin while their worldwide parishes used their individual countries languages. Latin had been nearly dead since before the Middle Ages but the death rattles came in the 20th century over one thousand (1,000) yrs later. Papiamento on the other hand unlike Catholic Latin has yet to be standardized especially as to spelling rendering it historically much less a language and more a Creole Spanish pidgin which seems to be its destiny forever. How can Papiamento recover?
Padre Brenneker was understandably confused by the local Spanish Papiamento vernacular and continually and erroneously mistakes (malapropism?) Spanish pidgin vernacular and Dutch Papiamento script for African “dialect” telling the QUIRINDONGO, KIRINDONGO and KWIDAMA families in Curacao incorrectly that their Spanish and Dutch Papiamento surnames originated in Africa.
Unbelievably, Padre Brenneker never realized that the title of his book SAMBUMBU was Spanish Papiamento and the original root word Sambumbia (unlikely food mixture) originated in Spain. Most people (and NAAM also) when reading and citing the book Sambumbu in Curacao and in other geographical areas still don’t know this today. Furthermore it was (European Spanish) SURNAMES that arrived first (1492) on the Caribbean scene. European surnames came very muxh later (1863) to most Blacks in the New World. Ever so slightly ever so slowly sub-Sahara African surnames came later and little by little to Africa itself (1935) and ever so slowly (1950) to the USA and much later to the Caribbean.
Padre Brenneker was taking Oral History from illiterate older Black people who in 1950 even the small Curacao literate group in Curacao did not know their History and the origin of Spanish Papiamento. Some “highly educated” people from Curacao still don’t know Papiamento’s origin today overstating the African influence. The intelligentsia in Curacao say that if there is “doubt” about its derivation, or if it “sounds sub-Sahara African” it must be sub-Sahara African. This logic boggles the mind when we can prove that surnames, place-names and New World languages in general have a miniscule of sub-Sahara African presence today in the New World. Moreover sub-Sahara African surnames came very late in sub-Sahara Africa and are still very scarce in the New World and in Curacao today (2004) and place-names from sub-Sahara Africa are (almost?) non-existent in the New World. Spanish, a European language with roots in Latin, is pervasive in Papiamento. Altho’ some words “sound sub-Sahara African” and the population of the Dutch-Caribbean and especially Curacao is and was overwhelmingly Black. It is very difficult for Blacks in
Curacao and the USA in particular as well as Blacks worldwide to face the
realities and facts, namely that sub-Sahara Africa’s isolation has made sub-Sahara
Africa
Blacks non-participants in the progress of civilization. This stands true for Australia’s Black aboriginal people who
also have hundreds of languages and also maintain that they are at the very
inception of mankind try to debunk the “out of Africa”
evolution theory. The Amerindian, on the other hand, accepts and
enthusiastically embraces the non-role non-participant civilization development
status reality as a religious and innate quality of the
Amerindian “nature” in the New World quietly without self-denial expanding
on religious myth.
This does not say that Blacks and Amerindians in the New World have not
contributed to New World Civilization but only that the leap to modernity for
them has been particularly hard and difficult. We only need look at worldwide
school test scores and the economic state of Haiti, Jamaica, and even Mexico,
Brazil in the inner cities and some rural areas of the USA where a vast of
Blacks and Amerindians live to see that they still have a long way to go.

improbable unsophisticated historical revisionist theories of inclusion. The
ostensibly glib but uneducated Curacao and the USA Blacks frequently claim that
anyone from the continent of Africa including North Africa is necessarily a
Black person. They obviously have not traveled to these areas as well as not
being knowledgeable in Africa’s migratory History stretch the boundaries of the
sub-Sahara Africa to include
Egypt, the Middle East and even Jesus Christ is incorporated as a Black man in
the misguided Curacao’s and the
USA Black’s Oral History New World ethnocentric revisionism.

Moreover over four hundred thirty yrs or over (21-22) generations of Spanish colloquial Papiamento vernacular (1499-1935) pass before the majority of Blacks, Mulattos and the few rural poor Whites started to become semi-literate (in Papiamento? Creole? Spanish? English? French? Dutch?) in the West Indies. In Curacao the literacy rate was hindered further by the non-acceptance and non-use of a standardized written Papiamento or Spanish in schools while Dutch became the sole “official” school language. This draconian but very European directive set back the progress of the schooling and education of poor Blacks in all areas of instruction over at the very least another two (2) generations or forty (40) yrs. Universal literacy in the Dutch language as well as a somewhat standardized written Papiamento came circa 1985-1995. Papiamento has yet to be standardized and taught in public schools and for this reason it is still changing.

Padre Brenneker had strolled ambitiously in 1950 with the best of intentions from a Dutch European culture into a totally very unfamiliar colloquial Spanish Papiamento 3rd world of the 1950 illiterate Curacao to write his Oral History book taking verbatim through many in-between translators statements from illiterate people and interpreting 1634-1950 written old Dutch and old Dutch Papiamento without being able to pose relevant questions to the folklore and stories from the turn of the century older illiterate Blacks. Padre Brenneker has reached legendary status in the small island of Curacao with NAAM and others citing his works as gospel without question. It would have been more constructive to put Padre Brenneker in correct perspective questioning realizing Padre Brenneker’s limitations and probing some of his results OBJECTIVELY.

Padre Brenneker may have copied the title SAMBUMBU (Studs Terkel style) from Sambumbia by Cooper P. A. discovery of the Dominican Republic, the modern Hispaniola. Caribbean Library, New York. 1947, published about the time Padre Brenneker arrived in Curacao.
