Okay, party people, put your hands in the air. All right, party people, wave 'em like you don't
care.
So how's it going? Yes, yes, and yes, I have been neglecting the blog big time. Now a day that's
a silly thing to do. Of course I have excuses. They are as follows:
1. I turned 30 years old. Although that may seem like inevitability
to many people, Im very proud of myself hitting that mark. I should get a gold star. My crystal on my hand turned red, and
I heard a few folks shout Last Day! and Renew! Renew! I ran from the Sandmen and found Sanctuary. Sorry, lame movie joke
2. My third solo album is in the works. Dont expect it anytime
soon. Honestly, dont. I have tons of material to wade through. Also, this one is going to countfor me anyway. If others dig
it, thatd be cool, too.
3. I did a short discussion about my first album, green.
After almost five years of it being around, Martin Simpson of South African Bassplayers Collective was kind enough to let
me blab about it on his lovely site. Heres the link if you want to know more about the stories behind the tunes: http://www.bassplayers.co.za/interviewdarren-m.html
So theres my
reasons and Im sticking to em. By the way, gigs are going cooler. Sorry about the smidgen of negativity in the last post.
It was just a wee bit, but lots of folks seemed to home right in on it. No worries now. Everything is a big American party,
everyone laughing, everyone disco dancingsorry more lame quoting. Okay, come see me at Mocha Match on the first Friday of
every month. Also, catch me at the Lodo Bass Bash this AugustIll be doing a clinic. Word to Big Bird and toodle loo.
