CD in the spotlight...
For the next week (Sunday, Feb. 18th thru Friday, Feb. 23rd) my second solo album, equilibrium, will
be featured on Bass World Radio. That means that every hour a different track from that CD will be played. So if you haven't
yet heard the disc, go and check it out. There's also a ton of cool bass stuff playing there, so go and vote on what you like!
Bass World Radio can be found at http://www.live365.com/stations/bsharples or you can visit them at Myspace at http://www.myspace.com/bassworldradio

New stuff
My last post was oh-so-very long ago. Sorry about that. A little after BassUp! I was in a very nasty
carwreck. No one was killed, but I was pretty banged up. I totaled my roadwarrior car, and I was slammed with a huge pile
of medical bills. All you musicians out there, keep your medical insurance up. When you let it lapse is when the rough stuff
happens.
As I said, no one was killed. The only damage was to property, wallets, and my waistline. That's right, I did even more couch
riding when I was stricken less mobile. I'm doing better now, but it's going to take months to downplay my newfound "Michelin
Man" look. Joy. Of course, I'm alive and happy to be because I get to play bass, talk to good folks like you, and be with
my wonderful wife, Cindy.
Of course neato stuff has happened as well. I joined a killer band called Cinetrope. The music is fun, intelligent, and poppy.
Plus, I'm playing with some groovie, like-minded folks. It's been many years since I've experienced this. I'm digging it.
Cinetrope has several north Georgia gigs coming up, so check the calendar at www.cinetrope.net and www.myspace.com/cinetrope
for shows you and yours can make it to.
In other news, I had a blast at winter NAMM '07. I played at the Jerzy Drozd Basses booth (www.jerzydrozdbasses.com). Also,
I had a chance to see and jam with many of my bass friends. Check out some of the (somewhat portly) photos here: http://jerzydrozdbasses.com/NAMM2007/index.htm
Jerzy shot a lot of video, so I'll post those on the net once they become available.
The new album is coming along. My Jerzy Drozd basses have led me to a deeper sound and a new level of composition. No worries,
my Thumb bass still makes many an appearance. If you want to hear the new tunes, come check out one of my solo dates as noted
on my Gig Calendar.
Also, I'm teaching at a new location. Here's the info:
