Xi'an is considered the cradle of Chinese civilization and served as its first capital. Xi'an boasts the most complete city wall to have
survived in China. The wall stands 40 feet tall, is 40 - 46 feet wide at the top and 50 - 60 feet wide at the base. It forms an 8.5 mile squre with a rampart and sentry building built every 125 yards (i.e. within arrow range).

In addition to gate towers in the wall, the center of the city revolves around the Bell Tower! The morning bell is echoed by the dusk drum found in the Drum Tower across the square.
