Fifth Wheel
|
|

The fifth wheel or hitch moves backward or forward.
It is kept in place by a few sets of flat gears. |The fifth wheel
itself is 5 bumps wide, to allow for the ball joint of the trailer
to slide. The trailer slides in the slot and is kept in place by
an axle slid in from the side.
This image also shows the shock absorbers. On trucks these are basically
large cylinders of rubber, I used some tires off of an old space
set.
