Hood Open, Left Side

    Here is a view of the left side of the truck with the hood open. The hood opens forward like on most big trucks. The hinges that allow the hood to open can be seen from the front. The hood would weigh too much for the hinges (i.e. The hood would fall off) if not for two supporting cables (yarn in my case) that connect the hood to the radiator. Real rigs use these cables also, as that much weight just puts too much strain on the hinges. An interesting problem I encountered was that the hood was too heavy even with the supporting cables. So some extra bracing was given to the radiator.
